Another important difference between Phillips's view and my own is that he never seems to make up his mind about just what he wishes to saywhethersay whether
1. that religious transcendence is not metaphysical transcendence;
2. that religious transcendence does not equate with metaphysical transcendence; or
3. that religious transcendence has nothing whatever to do with metaphysical transcendence.
