Check Out Map Project Layers

Connect the Trimble GeoXH GPS device to the computer using the dock.  Turn it on and wait for it to boot up completely.

In the saved Map Project, click on the Get Data for ArcPad button in the ArcPad Data Manager tool bar.  A welcom welcome screen will appear. Click Next.  The

Get Follow the ESRI Tutorial on Getting Data for Arcpad - Select Data dialog box will appear.  You should see the layers from your Map Project/File Geodatabase.

Click on the Actions column header to extend the Actions drop down menu.

Choose Checkout all Geodatabase layers and copyout all other layers.  This will change the status from "Do not export" to "Checkout Data" for the shapefiles and "Background JPG200" for any background images/raster files in the database.

Click Next.  The Select Picture Options dialog box will appear.  You may use this dialog box if you have existing photos of Features you will be tracking.  If you do not have photos, click Next.

The Select Output Options dialog box will appear.

Important Options to Use

In the Select Output Options dialog box, under "Where do you want this folder to be stored?", be sure to save the folder to the ActiveSync folder in MyDocuments.  It will look something like this: "I:\kwhite2\My Documents\Geo4939435713 My Documents"

In the Select Deployment Options dialog box, check the box next to the "Create ready to deploy .CAB file containing the ArcPad data."  If the GPS unit is connected to the computer and turned on, checking this box will result in the immediate deployment of the Map Project and its data to the GPS unit.Check In Map Project Layers
