Some elements in a religion (or religious tradition) are properly said to be "constitutive," because they are the elements constituting the religion (or religious tradition) and therefore also all of the other elements in it that are properly distinguished as only "representative."

But all elements in a religion (or religious tradition) are not constitutive, but representative only, of the meaning of ultimate reality for us.
