1. Open ArcMap10 and start with a blank document.
2. To prove that our GPS points are drawn in the correct place, first add a Basemap.
   

   Add a Basemap

3. Click the drop down next to the "Add Data" button.
4. Select "Add Basemap."
5. Choose "Imagery" (or another basemap that you may prefer).
6. Click "Add."

   Add Excel GPS Data

7. Click the "Add Data" button and navigating to where you saved the "GPSpoints" file.
8. Select the .xlsx file and
9. click "Add."
10. Select "Sheet1$" and
11. Click "Add."
12. Right click "Sheet1$" in the Table of Contents and "Open" the table. You should see that the table has been formatted nicely.
13. Close the table.
