In one place, the phrase he places in apposition to it is "a conviction accepted once for all \[_eine ein für allemal angenommene Überzeugung_\]" (GV 4: 182; cf. his insistence elsewhere that faith "_ist ja keine menschliche Seelenhaltung, kein menschliches_ _Ü{_}{_}berzeugtsein, sondern Antwort auf die Anrede_" \[GV 3: 31\]).
