You may place a hold/recall on a checked-out item while in the library catalog.

  • When viewing a If the brief title record in the catalog, [Place Hold] or [Cannot place hold] will display.
  • Click on [Place hold].
  • Verify that this is the item you want and click on Place a Hold in the Items Resources Box.
  • shows that the items is checked out or on order, you may click on [Place a hold/recall request.
  • Enter Prompt will require your Drew user name & and password. Click [OK] to place a hold for to complete the process.

Hold requests may also be submitted by completing a recall card at the Circulation Desk.

Fines for failure to return a recalled item

Maximum overdue recall fine for failure to return a recall for an individual placed by another patron is $20.00. Maximum overdue recall fine for failure to return a Reserves recall is $45.00. If a Reserves recall is not returned in two weeks promptly and the library purchases a new copy for Reserves, an additional replacement fee of $75$100.00 will be charged.
