Another passage where it seems to me Bultmann may very well be expressing his twofold understanding of sin, and, correspondingly, of "the true scandal," occurs in "Urchristentum und Religionsgeschichte": 18, in a summary interpretation of Jesus' proclamation. Jesus "says nothing that has not already been said, and he shows that everyone who lets go of self-love and self-righteousness [Selbstliebe und Sebstgerechtigkeit] knows very well what God demands of him and that he can be confident of God as merciful Father."
