Since it is necessary to fetch the call number's analytic position, and associate it with the item rather than the call number, in order to take the volume number (or enumeration) out of the call number and put it in the relevant field of the item record...we might as well pull other item-specific data (such as circ, staff, and public notes ...what else?as well as item cats 1 and 2) and deal with it up front.
