I can agree, provided his statement may be understood as meaning both of the following:
(1)
that the gift and demand that Jesus makes explicit is the gift and demand originally presented by God, and that wherever God's gift and demand is originally presented -- which is, of course, wherever it can be understood -- it can never be other than the gift and demand that Jesus decisively re-presents; and
(2)
that God is originally presented, and must therefore be re-presented, only as event, the "'that" as well as the "what" of re-presentation being essential to its being re-presentation in the sense intended.
