Use the eTrex HC series quick start guide to find and record Waypoints
The eTrex records latitude and longitude in Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds. If you want to use data collected with the eTrex in ArcMap, you will need to convert these latitude/longitude data into decimal degrees.
When reading the latitude and longitude data from the Waypoint recorder, remember the follwoing information:
Latitude refers to the Y coordinates in ArcMap. They are represented on printed maps by horizontal lines.
