Standing proud in this great forest
Is our beloved University,
Spreading knowledge, growth, and friendship
At the heart of this community.
From these places and in our faces,
May the name of Drew prevail (prevail!)
To Drew, the true, the green and blue,
Our voices now do hail!

"To my knowledge, Drew has never had a fight song. The School Song that Paul and I wrote was meant as an alternative to the Alma Mater, which I understand is an adapted Christian (Anglican/Methodist?) hymn. President Tom Kean put the challenge to us. I think he maybe had more of a fight song in mind, though. Kean was a Princeton graduate and, apparently, there was a school song everyone knew and sang at events when he was in college.

As for recordings of The School Song, I'm aware of two recorded versions. Paul and I were members of 36 Madison Avenue, which is Drew's oldest and only all-male a capella group. Not sure if those gender binaries still hold for any of the groups on campus now, but that's how the group was historically identified. We recorded it on the album "Whoa- Mad Ave" in 1997 and I believe a new arrangement was recorded on the album circa 2000 that I remember had a title something like, "I am Spartacus, We are Spartaci". The original version we did in 1997 was recorded at Mix-o-Lydian studios in Sparta, NJ. It's a studio run by Drew alumnus Don Sternecker, which is why we went there."
