If you add sites via Group Policy, you can specify a subdomain for the IE 11 compatibility mode site list, instead of just top level domains.

This would allow us to add 'banner.drew.edu' instead of all of 'drew.edu' to the list, so that BDMS should work. The procedure outlined below is just for testing. We'd either want to push this out via a group policy (potentially leveraging the somewhat new Enterprise mode and its configuration kit that IE 11 supports under Windows 7 and the 8.1 Update).

  1. Start > Run
  2. Type gpedit.msc and hit ENTER
  3. When the Local group policy editor starts, expand Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, followed by Internet Explorer, and finally Compatibility View.
  4. Under Compatibility View, there is an Setting titled Use Policy List of Internet Explorer sites. Double-click on it.
  5. When the dialog box appears, click on the "Enabled" radio button.
  6. This will enable the Show button in the "Options" dialog box in the bottom-left area of the dialog. Click on Show.
  7. Click in the empty Value field and enter banner.drew.edu and then click on OK
  8. Click on OK

The policy should now show up as "Enabled" in the Local Group Policy Editor panel.

You will have to log out and back in again to insure that the policy setting has been applied. Note that sites delivered through a policy do not show up when you look at your Compatibility View settings in IE 11.
