Cather, Willa. T.L.s to E.K. Brown, Feb. 23, 1929.
Written on headed stationery of The Grosvenor. [1] leaf. Cather declines to give Brown permission to include her story "Double Birthday" in a textbook before it appears in a collection of stories from her publisher. She gives permission to us use "The Sculptor's Funeral," adding that he must secure Knopf's permission as well. She questions why "The Sculptor's Funeral" is so popular, as she considers and questions why that story is more popular than "Paul's Case," to be which she considers a much better story.
