  1. Open Printers & scanners from the Start menu.

  2. Select “Add a printer or scanner”.


  3. Scroll down to and click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”.


  4. Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” and click Next.


  5. Type the following in the Hostname or IP Address field: libsharp.lib.drew.lan


  6. The port name will fill in automatically.

  7. Make sure “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use” is selected.

  8. Click Next.You can rename the printer if desired (we suggest “Library Lobby
  9. Printer”)Note the name of the printer; you will have to choose this printer when printing.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Leave "Do not share this printer" selected and click Next.
  12. Click Finish.

  1. Open up Apple System Preferences.
  2. Click Printers & Scanners.
  3. Click the + sign in the lower left of the Printers and Scanners window to add a printer.
  4. Select IP tab (near the top).
  5. Type the following in the Address line: libsharp.lib.drew.lan

    1. Change "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP" to "HP Jetdirect - Socket".
    2. Leave Queue blank.
  6. You can rename the printer if desired (we suggest “Library Lobby Printer”)Note the name of the printer; you will have to choose this printer when printing.
    1. Location can be left blank.

    2. Generic PostScript Printer can remain.

  7. Click Add.

  8. Click OK.
