Bochenski allows as how "performatives" are "a third kind of independent ideal constructs alongside propositions and instructions" (79).

Could it be, then, that, just as authority in matters of life-praxis is correlated with either propositions or instructions -- epistemic authority in matters of belief being correlated with propositions, deontic authority in matters of action being correleated with instructions --  so existential authority in matters of self-understanding is similarly correlated with performatives?
