Granted that all persons are bearers of authority, it is not true (as Bochenski seems to hold) that all bearers of authority are persons.

Not only the agents of persons, and thus still other persons, can be the (delegated) bearers of authority, but the same is true of the instruments of persons. Moreover, the rules necessarily implied in making proper use of such instruments may also be bearers of authority – somewhat as the rules of a game are the bearer of authority for anyone who plays the game ("Rules" rule.H).
