1. Credenda and agenda are related to religious faith in particular as world view (or understanding of existence) and moral/political praxis are related to self-understanding in general.

2. Consequently, on any adequate general or philosophical analysis, one must make a threefold distinction between:
(1) my existential self-understanding of my own unique existence in particular;
(2) the world view (or understanding of existence) and moral/ political praxis that my existential self-understanding necessarily implies; and
(3) the existentialist understanding of human existence in general that both my existential self-understanding, on the one hand, and my world view and moral/political praxis, on the other, necessarily presuppose.

3. The solution to my problem of not reducing religion (or, mutatis mutandis, philosophy) to either metaphysics or ethics or both, but allowing it to be, as it is, the necessary and indispensable third" lies in thinking consistently in terms of this threefold analysis.
