1 Th 1:9 -- " . . . you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."
Acts 14:15 -- " . . . you should turn from these vain things to a living God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them. In past generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways; yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness."
John Wesley -- "15. To turn from these vanities -- From worshipping any but the true God. He does not deign to call them gods. Unto the living God -- Not like these dead idols. Who made the heaven and the earth, the sea -- Each of which they suppose to have its own gods."
