In one place, the phrase he places in apposition to it is "a conviction accepted once for all [eine ein fur allemal angenommene Uberzeugung] II (GV 4: 182; cf. his insistence elsewhere that faith !list ja keine menschliche Seelenhaltung, kein menschliches Uberzeugtsein, sondern Antwort auf die Anrede" [GV 3: 31]).
