What happened through Jesus -- through the occurrence that Jesus enacted?

God's becoming event -- more exactly, God's immediacy becoming event; being placed in (the situation of) faith; anticipating the last judgment; already celebrating the end-time meal -- all this takes place through Jesus, and, to be sure, through his presence here and now, without the reservation that he first has to die an atoning death.

But if what happens through Jesus is that the immediacy of God becomes event, the expectation thereby placed upon anyone who encounters Jesus is that she or he reckon already, here and now in the present, and in spite of all appearances to the contrary, with the immediate presence of God in her or his life. It is the expectation that already here and now, even in the darkness of this world, she or he live as a child of the light, as a child of the coming day (1 Th 5:4-10).
