What is the Enlightenment?
(1) It is concerned with action, praxis, life, including social and cultural structures or institutions appropriate to authentic human life.
(2) It holds that, precisely for the sake of action, praxis, life, human reason has a unique authority over all other putative authorities.
(3) Consequently, no claim to validity is valid simply because someone makes or implies it. It is valid, if it is valid, only because it can be validated, finally, by reason and experience.
