For what, from a Christian standpoint, are individuals to be free?
Not for the pursuit of their private interests. Nor for the pursuit of private virtues-in themselves and others-that discipline the pursuit of self-interests. No, individuals are to be free to serve the inclusive cause of God's love, which is the being and the well-being of all-all of God's creatures as well as Godself.
