John Hick's talk of religions as "contexts of salvation . . . within which the transformation of human existence from self-centeredness to God- or Reality-centeredness is occurring" converges nicely with Hartshorne's talk of "the basic ideal of religion" as "selflessness, setting of superpersonal values above self-interest and self-will."
