Established in 1998 by Professor J. Perry Leavell (1997 recipient of the Presidents Award for Distinguished Teaching) and his wife, Dr. Barbara Oberg, with the support of family, friends, and former students, as an expression of their shared love of history and commitment to academic excellence. Awarded annually to a graduating senior for outstanding achievement in history.
