Samuel W. Bowne, a trustee of Drew Theological Seminary, donated $30,000 to build and furnish this gymnasium, which first opened in 1910.
Drew students used the pool depicted above until 1958, when Bowne Gymnasium became Bowne Theatre, now the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre.
