Most people have picked up some notion of it from the news, the Internet, or their own publication agreements; but especially since the copyright landscape has changed so much over the last 30 years, there’s still plenty of room for confusion and vagueness.In 2012, Drew adopted a Copyright Policy Statement (https://uknow.drew.edu/confluence/x/6IewAQ) and a Policy on the Use of Copyrighted Materials (https://uknow.drew.edu/confluence/x/7IewAQ)to help faculty, staff and students stay on the safe side of this complex legal issue. How does the current copyright law work? How can you tell that you are following Drew’s Policy?
Questions to be addressed include:

- How can I use materials in my research and teaching without violating others’ copyrights?
- What does the Drew Copyright Policy mean for me?
- A brief introduction to new copyright topics
