Subject: Copyright Infringement Notice
Recently the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has sent Drew University several notices of suspected copyright infringement.  Please be aware that the RIAA is monitoring filesharing networks such as those used by Gnutella, Ares, and BitTorrent and will send notifications of suspected infringement to Drew.

How to not get in trouble for sharing music:

*Share music that the artists want you to share.  Drew alumni Steve Wozniak would be happy to have you download his band's album from http://www.legitimatebusinessrock.com/.
*Listen to music in approved ways.  Many bands have their official videos on http://youtube.com
*http://pandora.com and http://last.fm both have excellent music streaming services based on what you want to hear.  Both of these also now work excellently with Drew University's expanded internet bandwidth.
*Listen to the radio.  WMNJ is a great source of the songs you want to hear!  If they're not playing the songs you want to hear then maybe you need your own show!  No radio? Tune in online at http://www.drew.edu/clubs/wmnj.aspx
*Listen to someone else's radio.  Almost all radio stations now stream on the internet, so even if you don't have a radio in your room you can still listen whenever you want.  I like http://wfmu.org and http://kexp.org but you may have other radio stations that you like!
*Listen to podcasts.
*Don't upload or share music without the copyright holder's permission.  Obviously.
*Buy music online or on CD.

Copyright infringement is a serious issue and CNS asks the Drew Community to consider the effects of their actions.
