Here Now!!: A new and improved CloudPC user experience! The new interface works through Inuvika instead of Citrix. There are some differences between the two (which we will do our best to explain), but the basics are the same. You can learn more by trying out the new experience explained here.

Inuvika

Web (HTML5) Client

After full launch, visiting cloudpc.drew.edu will bring you to the new system. For now, please visit https://cpc.drew.edu/ovd.

You do not need to install any software to run applications within your browser.

You can find step-by-step directions for using the web-based (or HTML5) client either in the frame below, or by clicking this link for the PDF.

Desktop Client

Those who would rather launch applications from their desktop can install the software appropriate to their operating system from https://archive.inuvika.com/ovd/3.4/.

  • We recommend choosing the .exe instead of the .msi for our Windows users.
  • We will flesh out these installation instructions if we receive many questions about them, but here are the basics:
    • Read and then accept the license agreement
    • Stick to the defaults (make sure you have enough space; you should)
    • Restart when prompted

You can find step-by-step directions for using the web-based (or HTML5) client either in the frame below, or by clicking this link for the PDF.

Tips and Tricks

As we learn or hear tips and tricks, we will share them here. Please reach out to helpdesk@drew.edu if you discover anything you think we should share here.

  • It might not be a terrible idea for a frequent user of the web client to use a different browser on Windows or MacOS than the browser they're using for other work. It's far easier to accidentally reload the page (or exit the tab) if you don't have a browser running that's largely dedicated to the OVD web client. For example, if you're using Chrome on MacOS or Windows for Drew work, Google Docs, etc., you could opt to use Firefox (either OS), Edge (Windows) or Safari (MacOS) for CloudPC.

  • I found a newer version of the desktop client! Shouldn't I use it? It's at https://www.inuvika.com/support/#download.
In this situation, we suggest not switching yet. Our team identified two bugs (macOS 27 crashing issues and network drive connections) that the Inuvika team is actively working to correct. Please use the 3.4 version found at https://archive.inuvika.com/ovd/3.4/ until we advise otherwise.

  • If asked to allow clipboard access, approve and make your life easier.

  • Windows Explorer may open automatically. Just minimize it.

  • Anyone using SQL developer really should export their connections to their F:\My Documents folder so they can import it into the new environment. That's the only supported method of migrating them.

Citrix

There is no need for you to use Citrix any longer. Please scroll up and try out Inuvika!

Please install the latest version of the Citrix Workspace App for your computer:

https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/

Please note: Those enrolled in Duo Security will no longer be prompted to choose how they get their Duo approval request after entering their password in the Citrix Workspace desktop app.

  • If you usually approve with a push, then you just need to approve the push on your phone (open and refresh the app if you don't see it right away).
  • If you usually approve with a phone call or passcode, then you will have to log in through the cloudpc.drew.edu page. The apps will still launch in Citrix Workspace unless you've changed the receiver.

Use CloudPC for seamless access to Drew's Windows-based software from anywhere in the world. CloudPC offers:

  • Drew's own "App Store". Customize your CloudPC home page with the apps you use the most.
  • Seamless integration with your Mac or PC desktop. View your CloudPC applications alongside your other open windows.
  • Access from a wide variety of devices, including PCs, Macs, Tablets, and even Chromebooks.

If you have any issues printing, accessing local drives, or copying and pasting, your session is likely using the HTML5 in-browser CloudPC client. Contact the User Experience Team at x4357 or through https://help.drew.edu for assistance setting up Citrix Workspace.

Before you launch CloudPC, you should follow the appropriate link in the first box to install Citrix Workspace (learn how). Installing the Workspace app allows you to utilize full CloudPC functionality. However if you do not wish to, are unable to install Workspace at this time, or are using a device on which you cannot install programs, like a Chromebook, basic access to CloudPC applications will still be available from within your browser.
