As the University in the Forest, sustainability is important to us. As such, we encourage you to only print what you absolutely need in printed form. During the start of the Fall 2022 semester, the open printers in the library averaged 1000 pages per day; that is an entire tree every 10 days.  While we may think that that sounds low, remember that to turn a single tree into paper, also consumes 1500 liters of water, 285 kilowatts of power, and 14 liters of fuel.  Contrast that with the fact that one living tree, not turned into paper, provides enough oxygen for three people.  Reducing our printing takes a positive step in the right direction toward saving our planet.
