Maintaining a safe and secure campus environment is the primary responsibility of the Department of Public Safety. The University's excellent record in this area attests to the effectiveness of the department and its programs.

Keeping in mind that Public Safety should always be called immediately in emergency situations (x4444), the procedures outlined in this manual are to be considered not as rules, but as guidelines to be followed in the judgement of the individual employee.
